Welcome to Pigeon Lake Resort
Pigeon Lake Resort has been around since the early 1900s, when it was known as Pigeon Lake Cottages. At that time, it catered primarily to American guests who came for the season. The resort operated on an American Plan (meals included), as the cottages did not have kitchens. Over the years, it evolved into a collection of fully equipped, self-sufficient cottages.
Note: Please contact Pigeon Lake Resort by phone at: (705) 738-2333 to discuss any specific questions that you may have.
Wayne and Karen Haagsma purchased the resort in 1999. Since then, it has undergone significant upgrades and transformations. The resort has 20 cottages (two-, three-, and four-bedroom units).
We have always taken pride in being environmentally sustainable. To improve comfort and efficiency for our guests, we have added heat pumps to all of our cottages, providing both heat and air conditioning. To help power these systems, we have installed a large net-metering solar system. We have also installed two Level 2 EV chargers to support both our own electric vehicles and those of our guests.
We are excited to welcome our oldest daughter and son-in-law, Karissa and Nathan Mason, to the business, and are delighted to see it continue under the care of the next generation.
Our guests love the spacious property, the stunning sunset views over Pigeon Lake, and the many amenities available, including various boat rentals, a sandy beach, walking trails, beach volleyball, horseshoe pits, and shuffleboard. The resort's close proximity to Bobcaygeon is another bonus, providing easy access to groceries and delicious Kawartha Dairy ice cream.
The Kawartha Lakes region is renowned for its beautiful lakes and charming tourist towns. It is also conveniently located within driving distance of Toronto, Hamilton, and other surrounding areas.
Over the years, we have met many wonderful people, including numerous returning guests who make this business especially rewarding. Many families have created lasting memories here, returning year after year to enjoy time together on the shores of Pigeon Lake.
Countless memories have been created here, and many more will continue to be made for years to come. We are excited to welcome the next generation, whose fresh ideas and enthusiasm will help continue the legacy we began in 1999.
